Diablo 4 Season 1 is set to be the biggest update to Activision-Blizzard’s demon-slaying saga since it launched. But how long is the game and how long does it take to beat?

How Long Does Diablo 4 Take To Beat?

Because it’s a big game and there’s a lot of variables to contest with, there’s no set time for players completing Diablo 4. My playthrough may take a lot longer than yours, or vice versa. We can say with some confidence though that most players will complete the main narrative in 15 to 40 hours.

If you’re a video game completionist or want to explore more areas of Sanctuary, you’ll likely be at the higher end of that scale. If you’re more interested in the story and getting through that you’ll be at the lower end. Naturally, aspects like player competency will also affect how fast you get through the game.

It’s also worth saying that past Diablo games, like Diablo 3, took up to 150 hours to complete fully (by that, we mean attain 100% in every challenge, mission and objective). If that sounds like a task you’re up for in its successor then by all means go for it.

We expect Season of the Malignant to add hours onto this in the form of new content. There’s set to be a replayable Malignant Tunnels Dungeon, a new boss, and 32 Malignant Hearts added. Again, the time this content takes to complete depends on you and your skill levels.

All Acts in Diablo 4

There are six acts for players to work their way through in Diablo 4, alongside a Prologue and Epilogue. The full list is below:

  • Prologue: Wandering
  • Act I: A Cold and Iron Faith
  • Act II: The Knife Twists Again
  • Act III: The Making of Monsters
  • Act IV: A Gathering Storm
  • Act V: Secrets Bartered, Fates Sold
  • Act VI: Dance of the Makers
  • Epilogue: From the Wound Spilled

As is typical in Diablo 4, each Act has a series of missions to work through that branch out with the story and other quests. It’s an intricate story, with plenty of side quests and NPC leads to track down.

That’s everything there is to say about Diablo 4’s Acts and how long it takes to beat. Be sure to check out everything else Diablo 4 in the related content below.
